Questions and Answers

  • Our SHEVEGA supplements are strictly formulated and created to be used only for SHEVEGA diet plans.

  • There are different reasons: Pet owner/carers decision, vet prescribed diets for health reasons (like liver shunts where no animal protein can be used), to decrease allergens ingested, environmental or animal welfare reasons. A plant-fuelled diet for pets decreases the ammonia level (toxis for every organ, especially brain and colon), decreases acidity in blood and urine and is good in the prevention os stones formed in acidic urine.

  • Our SHEVEGA plant fueled diets are all healthy, complete and balanced as well as being tasty and compliant with AFCO and FEDIAF nutritional requirements for adult dogs.

Please ensure your dog has regular check-ups with the Vet and SHEVEGA recommends at east every 6 months and in order that bloods works can be carried out. Furthermore we recommend that before you start your dog on a plant-based SHEVEGA diet plan please do undertake a full Vet check-up for your dog. Weigh your dog before the commencement of the diet plan if possible, every two weeks while on the diet and at least for the next three months. For dog’s parents who are not sure how to transfer their pet to plant-fuelled food please see below “How to transfer to a new diet” and advice on body weight adjustments.

Food transition in dogs

When transitioning your Adult Dog to another diet, you should be aware that any change in the type of food (even within the same brand!), ingredient, - requires a food transition. If you are transitioning your dog from one diet to another, ensure that you do this over 10-14 days by starting with 10 % of the new food being added to the usual food and keep increasing this every day slowly, until the entire food has been replaced. If there any adverse reactions, like diarrhoea or vomiting please contact your vet immediately.

Please check your dog’s urine pH weekly and ideally it should be between 6.5 to 7.

Please see the Table below. Mark this is the Table titled as below with the NB.
